LATEST DEVELOPMENT UPDATE 29 Oct.,2025

Throughout history, there have been remarkable individuals whose conversion to Islam has illuminated the path for entire communities.

🔸 Abu Tharr, hailing from a tribe of relentless criminals and ruthless bandits, brought his entire nomadic tribe, Ghifar, to the light of Islam.

🔸 Salman, who saved the believers with his innovative idea of the trench, lived long enough to introduce Islam to the Persian people.

🔸 Abu Huraira, the greatest narrator of Hadith, shared it with his tribe, Daws of the Yemeni people.

🔸 Similarly: Bilal delivered the peaceful message of Islam to the Ethiopian people, Suhaib spread it among the Romans of the Levant, Tariq ibn Ziad to the Spanish Andalusians, and many more!

These pioneers extended the reach of Islam to new lands and cultures, their contributions forever shaping history.

And today, YOU have the extraordinary opportunity to earn a similar reward insha’Allah by supporting A ONCE IN A LIFETIME CAUSE:

Helping a new community in the most Southern part of the world spread the word of Allah: the Māori, the indigenous people of New Zealand and the Pacific Islands!

SUPPORT THE MOSQUE CONSTRUCTION NOW

Who lives in the South Pacific region?

The Māori, they are the indigenous people of Aotearoa, the original name of modern-day New Zealand. Their ancestors voyaged from the surrounding Pacific Islands and have settled in New Zealand for over eight centuries.

Shared Values with Islam

The Māori culture shares several values with Islamic teachings:

🔸 Io Matua Kore (The Supreme God): In Māori tradition, Io Matua Kore is recognized as the creator of all things, who has unlimited power and is fatherless. This concept is similar to the Islamic understanding of Allah (swt), thus making their conversion to Islam relatively easy.

🔸 Whānau (Family and Community): The Māori place a strong emphasis on family and community, similar to the Quranic concept of Silat Al-Rahim (صلة الرحم).

🔸 Manaakitanga (Hospitality): values hospitality and kindness towards guests, much like the Islamic principle of Karam (كرم).

🔸 Colonial struggles: Like many Muslim communities around the world, the Māori have a challenging history marked by struggles against colonialism.

Location of land: 463 Porchester Rd, Auckland, New Zealand

Why build a stratigiclly big Islamic Center in this region?

In recent years, there has been a notable increase in the number of Māori accepting Islam, with multiple Shahadas occurring weekly.

According to the official New Zealand census, the number of Māori Muslims was just 99 in 1991. By 2018, this number had surged to 2,982, including reverts from Māori and other Pacific Islander tribes.

Who will benefit from this Islamic Centre?

🔸 The Māori & Pacific Islander Reverts: 3,000+

🔸 The Diverse Muslim Community of Auckland: 40,000+

🔸 The General Population of Auckland: 1.67 million

🔸 The Annual Visitors to New Zealand: 5 million

🔸 The General Population of New Zealand: 5+ million

🔸 The General Population of Australia 25+ Million

“’This matter (Islam) will certainly reach every place touched by the night & day. Allah will not leave a house or residence except this religion will enter it” – Prophet Muhammed ﷺ (Ahmed 16957)

Why Build a Mosque in New Zealand?

Combating Islamophobia: The 2019 Christchurch tragedy, where 51 innocent lives were lost and 40 others were injured (some with permanent disabilities), is a stark reminder of the consequences of misunderstandings about Islam. The New Zealand community needs to be proactive in educating people, and this Dawah Center will serve as a beacon of knowledge and understanding.

YOUR DONATION COULD SAVE LIVES

Educational Center: The mosque will offer Islamic Studies programs aimed at educating the Māori, the general Muslim public, and communities from 15 Pacific Islands surrounding New Zealand. These programs will help cultivate future scholars and leaders.

YOUR DONATION WILL GRADUATE ALIMS

Islamic Outreach Museum: With 5 million tourists visiting Auckland annually, in addition to the 5 million people living in New Zealand, the Islamic Centre will feature a beautiful museum showcasing Islamic arts, history, and Dawah. This will be an inviting way for people to learn about Islam. Plus, it will provide a place for Muslims to pray when visiting New Zealand’s natural wonders, insha’Allah.

YOUR DONATION WILL EDUCATE THE PUBLIC

Continuous Charity: Supporting this project offers a guaranteed continuous charity (Sadaqah Jariyah).

As Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity), beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.” (Bukhari)

YOUR DONATION WILL LEAVE A LASTING LEGACY

What Supporters Are Saying about FIANZ…

Here is glimpse of what our generous donors are saying about FIANZ:

5

“Zakat is a responsibility upon every Muslim. And I’m afraid of accounting for what I have on the day of Judgement. There is always the issue of authenticity that plagues me when I’m donating. I don’t know if my zakat is reaching those that need it but having a lecturer like Omar Suleiman endorse this raises my level of trust in this charitable establishment.”
-Sarah

5

“It’s not a choice to help others for me it’s rather a passion. It makes me happy to make someone at least smile.” -Samaha

5

“You have been recommended as a reputable charity and I trust that my donation will reach those Muslims in need Jazakallah” -Fatima
